Pray for France week 5
During week 5 of the 40 days of prayer for France, we are asked to pray for the leaders and the authorities in France, for the elections that will be held on March 29th.

We are also asked to pray for Muslim’s in France.  France has more Muslim’s than any other European country.  The largest mosque in France is in Strasbourg.

Please pray “that France will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”  Habakkuk 2:14

Please pray as Jesus taught; “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:9.  Pray that His will is done here in France as it is in heaven, that His kingdom will come here in France.

Please pray that Christians will reach out to their Muslim brothers with the gospel; that they might understand about a personal relationship with God through Jesus, Christ.

Please pray specifically for our family as we seek to build bridges between Christians and people of other faiths.  Please pray for us as we seek to reach out to immigrants from unreached countries that often come from Muslim backgrounds.

Pray for France – week 4

This past Sunday at Trinity International Church of Strasbourg, France, Pastor Karl said, “Prayer is about entering into a relationship with God.”  “Prayer is an incredible opportunity to work in partnership with God.”  We sang a worship song about prayer as well…
                “Every time I pray
                Mountains are removed
                The paths are made straight
                And nations turn to you.”

Last week we prayed for the nations – please continue to pray that the nations will turn to God.

During this week’s prayer for France initiative we will be praying for families and schools...

“Pray that God’s ways become more and more our ways.”

“Pray that families may be a stronghold… a place where life has meaning and protects against all the dangers of our society.” (Source: pray for France weekly downloads – prayforfrance.org)

Pray for France: Week 2

WHY FRANCE?

Three simple reasons…
Despite its Christian roots, today, France is 30% atheist.
Yet, we know that:
·       France has a divine calling.
·       France has great influence in the EU and around the world.
·       France has a deep reach into French-speaking cultures.

A Nation Called by God
From its very beginning, God had a special calling for France.
In 496, Clovis I became the first French King to convert to Christianity.  This was a significant event that changed the entire course of the French nation.

A Nation of Influence.
France is the largest country in Western Europe and the third-largest in Europe as a whole.  It possesses the second-largest exclusive economic zone in the world, just behind that of the United States.

A Nation with Reach.
France is the most visited country in the world, receiving 82 million foreign tourists annually.
French is spoken by nearly 200 million people in more than 43 countries on five continents.
Because of its colonial influence, French is spoken by a significant number of the countries in the Arab League which comprises almost 350 million people – most of which are Muslim.
Additionally, France has received tens of millions of immigrants from around the world.  Many of the nationalities represented come from closed and hard-to-reach people groups.  This provides on-going and high-impact opportunities to share the Gospel with residents and visitors who will then return to their home countries and evangelize their friends and neighbors.

Ideas for Daily Prayer Requests:

·       Thank you for praying with us for France: James 5:16b “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

·       “Pray that one day it will be said of France…Psalm 33:12 Happy is [France] whose God is the Lord!”

·       2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

·       Jeremiah 29:11-14a “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.  You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.  I will be found by you,” declares the Lord…

·       Pray “for the Church of France to seek God with all its heart and to lift him up above the nation.”

·       Pray for unity in France

·       Pray that Jesus will be lifted up in France.  John 3:14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up.  John 12:32 “But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.”

·       Pray that Christians will “show Jesus’ perfect love that casts out fear and redeems the time.”         1 John 4:18a There is no fear in love.  But perfect love drives out fear…

·       Pray for Churches in France that they might be “a house of prayer for all nations.”  Isaiah 56:7b For my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.

·       Pray for the nations that are coming to France that are unreached and have not had a chance to hear about a personal relationship with Christ.
